  1. Ugh, the creepy bitch is back. >(
She's like a damn tick, once she attaches to you she doesn't want to get the fck off!

    Creepy pervert.

Excuse the language, she just makes me angry. Can not stand her.

Ahem, thanks for the update Ronin. It makes me happy to see Birdy be updated and that I get to continue reading the story. *huggles*

Oh, also. I do hope you have backups of these. Since what happened to Megaupload and all this SOPA nonsense, I fear Mediafire and the like might be next. Not to mention the hunt for Copyrighted material.

Anyways, thanks again and have a wonderful day ;)

  2. Uploading it to torrents might be a good idea. I think, at least for now, they are relatively safe.

  3. Mediafire won't be taken down. 85% of all Fortune 500 companies use it.

Megaupload was taken down because of suspect business practices which Mediafire has avoided.

  4. Well, absolute worse case scenario you could buy yourself a set of all the volumes from Japan for around ¥4000 used and I could put out a text file with each page's translation. So I wouldn't worry about it. Honestly, it would be great if it got licensed but it just isn't popular enough for that. So here we are.

@Riz Hate Lee? Then you'll like the next chapter.

Hmmm, I'm not sure if your playing me or not. "You'll like the next chapter" could be sarcasm OR I'll actually LOVE what's going to happen and that would have something to do with BigDaddy!Gomez kicking her ass. ...I will definitely go with the latter. *evil grin* >D

Have a wonderful day Ronin. :)

Oh, about the "absolute worse case scenario", where would one find this used set at that price? Also, is that still to expensive, even used? What would the shipping be like?

  6. Amazon.co.jp has the 20 volume sets for sale around ¥4000 used ¥10,000 new and the shipping will depend on where you are since it will be airmailed. The price new is ¥505 a volume and about ¥200 used. I've also seen some on ebay which might be easier to deal with for you.

  7. You can get a good price for them on Yesasia.com.

Just do a search for "tetsuwan ba dei". That's the more literal translation of the title.

  8. Holy Crap! This thing has a SEQUEL!?

I was trying to figure out how many volumes this had (Yayasia is randomly organized and couldn't find anything on AmazonJP) and I noticed on Baka-Updates that this has a sequal! It's at 10 volumes!

20 Volumes for this one and 10+ Volumes for Evolution.

I feel SO BAD for you Ronin. I didn't realize how far along Birdy was. This will take you YEARS by yourself. I can't believe no other group is working on this. 5 years worth of volumes and I thought "only a few years behind" was a joke. :(

Aye, I guess it could be worse. You could be translating One Piece from the beginning. 64 volumes and growing. Wow, 15 years Oda has been doing it. Damn.

  9. Oops. Searching in Japanese might help too. Here's the title so you can cut and paste 鉄腕バーディー .

Evolution 11 comes out April 28th. They're cranking them out faster that I can. The volume I'm working on now was printed in June of 2005. 21 more volumes does sound better than 64 though. I would have plenty of help if it was Naruto or Bleach, but I picked the one with the funny name :D .

  10. It seems Birdy is a weekly (or bi-weekly?) series and lately you've slowed down a little bit (around one chapter per week) so right now you're translating it pretty much the same speed the mangaka is releasing it, which is rather good pace.

  11. You'll always be able to tell how busy I am by the release schedule. Those times that I finished 3 chapters a week? Yeah, stuck behind a computer screen and nothing else to do :D
