The current one is: Memories of a Marionette, Chapter 121-142. To find how many chapters there are you just have to use this formula: endChap - startChap + 1, i.e. 142 - 121 + 1 = 22 chapters in this arc. So far Ronin has done 5 chapters, so another 17 chapters I have to wait. With the current speed of 3-4 chapters per month (if it remains constant), this will take around 4-6 months to complete the current story arc. It's a long wait, but I'm sure it'll be worth it.
Otherwise, Ronin usually says when a volume ends (and gives a link to the whole volume soon after) and also says when a story arc ends.
@evgenidb, I think you'd get more enjoyment out of the Birdy manga if you stopped thinking of the story in arcs. That's because both the author and publisher are well aware of chapter breaks and sub-arcs. Thus, sub-arcs may be set up to have interesting "cliffhanger" endings. If you simply wait until you have all the chapters available to read in one sitting, you'll miss the cliffhanger effects. I consider cliffhanger endings to be part of the "fun" of any long manga series.
Yeah, but for me waiting each two weeks for the next chapter is like torture. It's a lot easier to wait for volumes or story arcs to get completed. I'd wait for the whole manga to be completed if I could, but I can't stand to wait that long. :(
And when an arc is completed, it's very hard to stop reading it. Sometimes I even wait for a couple of days until I have enough time to read it in one go (or two). The same thing I'm doing for Full Metal Panic Sigma and some other manga series I care.
If you think about it like that, I have been completing the chapters at about the same rate as they appeared in Big Comic Spirits in Japan. Every week your typical Japanese Birdy reader would get their copy , read the chapter, and have that little cliffhanger to think about until next week. They do the same thing in many of the anime series on tv.
Thanks thanks thanks.:p
ReplyDeleteOne question : How many chapter left before the end of the volume ?
So i know when i can take it ! :D
Personally, I read in arcs which rarely start and end in a single volume.
