Torrents! How does it sound to you? ThePirateBay, Demonoid, Nyaa,...
Also, MangaTraders.com is a good option. Your manga is eventually uploaded there anyway, so you can help the uploaders a little by uploading it for them. And I'm sure there must be other sites lurking somewhere.
what about SVN? i know it's a little unusual for a manga (i've only ever seen it used for 2d RPG games) but it'll allow you to quickly replace images from old uploads really quickly if you ever need to edit old uploads.
here's the SVN client i use. http://tortoisesvn.net/
I agree it might be useful once you get used to it, but learning how to do it is a bitch. Don't remember much from my experience with SVN, but I remember GitHub. You need a lot of code to write to set it up and then some code to do your thing.
SVN was a lot easier after the setting it up (just click "Checkuot" in a menu and it even shows what was changed). But that was years ago. I don't know how it is now. So, SVN is a good alternative if you manage to do it. I'd say try it, Ronin, if do it cool, if not - there are other alternatives.
If you are looking to archive using torrents, then http://bakabt.me is the best location because their community of users will handle the long-term seeding for you (as they do for all the other manga series there).
Bakabt.me specializes in complete series, BUT makes exceptions for ongoing LONG serials because things like bleach, one piece, naruto, and birdy are long serials that continue year after year and thus cannot be "complete". For these manga, bakabt accepts uploaded partial complete sets such as every ten volumes or every 100 chapters or once per year, etc. The same torrent is updated to the new one which means that the older files remain seeded. Because of this, it is best to have the torrent contain individual files of the size of volumes, although you might submit the torrent with individual chapters to see what comments result during their new torrent submission review process.

Just saw that MangaTraders even have a MangaViewer. Cool! (Although I'll still download the manga to read it.)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Abduction #6 is already there so you only have to upload from Abduction #7 till Birdy is finished.

OOPS. That's where you were. My bad.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, have U already found?
ReplyDeleteIf not what about "jumping" on emule?
I would need seeders for that. I hate to tell you that there aren't thousands waiting for the releases that would make that viable.
